What Does This Mean for You?
This feature dramatically accelerates the time it takes to export your design to PCB, saving you hours and even days in development time. You can eliminate the manual effort of downloading or building schematic symbols or component footprints.

How Does It Work?
Once you've completed your design with PIExpert, simply go to the File menu and select "Export Schematic". You will be presented with a choice of several popular CAD tools. We'll use ORCAD as an example.

Step-by-Step Process
- PIExpert captures all the schematic symbols and footprints necessary for your design, including Power Integrations components and other parts like resistors, capacitors, and magnetics.
- Symbols and footprints for PIExpert's entire component library are supported.
- The feature is also compatible with user-created custom components. For these, you'll see a generic footprint that can be replaced with your preferred one.
- The converted CAD design includes all connections (or nets) between components based on your schematic.

Downloading and Opening the Schematic File
Once the conversion is complete, click the button to download the native file to your computer. The downloaded zip file includes:
- The schematic file
- An abbreviated version of the user license file
- A README file with full instructions on how to open the schematic within your chosen CAD tool
